Internationale Deutscholympiade 2022

The International German Olympiad is the largest competition for the German language. It will take place again this year. For the final from 25.07.2022 to 05.08.2022 the best come together in the Hanseatic city of Hamburg.

To select the representatives from India, the national round of the German Olympiad was held by the Indo-German Teachers Association (InDaF) in April.

What is the IDO

The Internationale Deutscholympiade is a biannual worldwide contest in which contestants can put their German language skills to the test at three different levels (A2, B1 and B2). The finals are held in a different Goethe-Institut location in Germany every two years.

With that in mind, Goethe-Institut India was looking for two students to represent India at the world finals of the IDO 2022 in Hamburg. They will show their German language and cultural skills in a competition with students from 75 countries.

And we found them!

Our Olympians

We are very happy to present our two winners of the National German Olympiad in India. Both of them convinced us not only with their language skills but also with their creativity. Especially we are happy that both Olympians are from KV - IIT Kanpur. Congratulations!

Here you can see the creative videos of both of them. Enjoy!

SHARADIYA MONDAL

Through an amusing play, Sharadiya tackled a really serious issue in her final project: meat consumption.

Ardra Pattath

For her final project, Ardra chose the topic "Jobs of the Future" and presents two really bizarre jobs in her short video.

Now we wish the two representatives from India much success and a lot of fun at the IDO in Hamburg.
