EDUCATION COOPERATION OFFICER
FOR BILDUNGSKOOPERATION DEUTSCH (BKD) AND PROJECT PASCH (SCHOOLS: PARTNERS FOR THE FUTURE), LOCAL EMPLOYEE
at the Goethe-Institut Kolkata with scope of employment 50% + 50%
Remuneration according to the local remuneration scheme of the Goethe-Institutes in India
Two 20-hour per week positions that can be combined into one full-time position (40hrs):
1: Education Cooperation Officer (BKD)
2: Education Cooperation Officer (PASCH)
The Goethe-Institut is looking for an employee from 01.01.2025 or later (initially limited until 31.12.2025).
The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institute, active worldwide whose aims are to promote knowledge of the German language abroad, to foster international cultural cooperation and to convey a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information on cultural, social, and political life.
- Active planning and implementation of regional and local BKD projects and PASCH projects, including conceptual collaboration.
- Planning, implementation and evaluation of training and further education programs for BKD partners and PASCH teachers (including seminar planning, teacher support and material procurement).
- Promotion of student exchange programs and intercultural projects with international and regional partner institutions.
- Conception and implementation of online cultural programs as well as virtual and regional learning formats for students in the PASCH network.
- Close cooperation with global and regional PASCH networks for the development, implementation and exchange of best practices.
- Financial planning and budget management for the BKD area and the PASCH project.
- Development and support of the BKD network and PASCH network in East India, including consulting, curriculum development, participation in expert committees in the host country and cooperation with local expert committees.
- Planning and implementation of innovative projects with interdisciplinary approaches, including the combination of language learning with STEM subjects.
- Carrying out promotional activities for DAF and Germany at schools.
- Organization and implementation of Goethe exams (Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Fit in Deutsch 1, Goethe Zertifikat A2 and Goethe Zertifikat B1).
- Conducting hospitation for BKD and PASCH teachers.
- Planning and implementation of cultural programs in the BKD area and in PASCH schools.
- Administration and awarding of scholarships.
- Procurement and donation of teaching materials.
Requirements:
- Completed scientific university degree or equivalent knowledge.
- Very good knowledge of German at level C2 as well as good to very good knowledge of English and ideally Hindi and Bengali.
- Experience in teacher training and network building.
- Experience in planning and implementing digital projects and using modern tools and platforms.
- Examiner certificate for the Goethe-Institut exams or willingness to acquire one for Levels A1 to B1.
- Very good organizational, coordination and communication skills.
- High social and intercultural competence.
- Flexibility, ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel and occasionally work weekends.
- Ability to work autonomously and independently.
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with the Goethe-Institut's planning software (PPS).
