Day 2

The second day of the Seed Stories Symposium promises to be an engaging exploration of the diverse and rich narratives surrounding seed conservation in India.

The day will begin with an engaging session by Arundhati Mhatre of the Gram Art Project, who will bring stories to life through interactive games. This unique approach will not only entertain but also educate participants about the importance of seeds in our cultural and agricultural heritage.

Following this, Shamika Mone from the Organic Farming Association of India (OFAI) will share stories of seed savers from across the country. Her session will highlight the extraordinary efforts of individuals and communities who are preserving the genetic diversity of our seeds to ensure that these invaluable resources are passed onto future generations.

The day will also feature a seed mini-exhibition organised by the National Gene Campaign for Plant Resources (NGCPR). This exhibition will showcase a variety of seeds, providing an up-close look at the incredible diversity that exists within our agricultural systems.

Together, these sessions will provide participants with a deeper understanding of the vital role seeds play in sustaining both our ecosystems and our cultural identities.
