Well-known artist Gregor Schneider has been honored with the Ernst Franz Vogelmann Sculpture Prize for his internal structure and coherence in his work, as well as his significant contribution to recent sculpture history. In 2011, Gregor Schneider created a section of a street from his hometown of Rheydt in Kolkata. As part of the Durga Puja Festival, Schneider’s sculpture titled "It's All Rheydt" became the space which housed the goddess during the four-day festival and was an inherent part of the ceremonies.

His works are being presented in an exhibition at the Kunsthalle Vogelmann. The exhibition is featuring three representative works from different creative periods and includes parts of his sculpture presented in Kolkata during the Durga puja festival in 2011.

On this occasion, the documentary film ‘Ninety-Degrees’ by Nilanjan Bhattacharya will be screened at Kunsthalle Vogelmann, Germany and Sharmistha Sarker, Programme Officer, Goethe-Institut, Kolkata will share her impressions on the artistic intervention in 2011 by Gregor Schneider in Kolkata.
