The Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the Austrian Embassy, Austrian Cultural Forum, and Rama Theatre Natya Vidya (RATNAV), warmly invite you to a special theatrical performance ‘GIRAFTARI’, a Hindi adaptation of Franz Kafka’s novel – The Trial.

Performance Highlights:

‘Giraftari’ is an experimental drama that reflects on the current social, administrative, and legal systems in India. The play portrays the struggles of a common man who feels alienated, alone, and helpless in our modern yet fragmented society.

Written and Directed by Ms. Rama Pandey:

Ms. Pandey is a renowned author, producer, and director who leads Rama Theatre Natya Vidya (RATNAV). Her foundation is dedicated to promoting and preserving India's endangered oral and folk traditions. 'Giraftari' is a fusion of these traditional forms, bringing a unique and culturally rich experience to the stage.

The play will be performed in Hindi. An English description will be provided.

2024 marks 100 years of the passing of Franz Kafka. The Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi is pleased to present the poster exhibition COMPLETELY KAFKA in cooperation with the artist Nicolas Mahler and the Literaturhaus Stuttgart on the occasion of the Kafka Jubilee 2024.
