March Dance Festival, Chennai
Since 2023, the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan in New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Chennai, working in collaboration with tanzbar_bremen have been developing a project to make dance more visible and tangible with inclusive ensembles. Following an intensive workshop in 2024, in March this year, artists from tanzbar_bremen will be participating in two residencies in India.
In February, tanzbar_bremen will be rehearsing in Delhi with a diverse group of German and Indian artists with and without disabilities. Supplemented by open rehearsals, an internal performance and artist talks, the resulting performance will be shown in Kolkata on 8th March as part of Pickle Factory’s festival in Kolkata, Holding Space. The performance takes the dancers on a choreographical journey. A sensual dance experience about the presence and absence of different bodies in space and the topic of belonging.
Also in March, tanzbar_bremen will be working in Bangalore with artists from Bangalore and Chennai. The resulting performance will be shown on 22nd March as part of the March Dance festival in Chennai.
