Crochet Circle

You are invited to join, learn, crochet and be a part of the community project.

Join us as we reinterpret the artworks from the Empowerment - Art and Feminisms exhibition using crochet by members of the Simurgh Centre, a cultural centre for the Afghan community. Inspired by the artworks at the exhibition, a small group of skilled crochet practitioners will be crafting a collaborative crochet quilt.

Simurgh Centre is a project by Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi that creates exchanges and connects Afghan, German and Indian artists. In the three years since its inception, it has also developed into a safe cultural space for the Afghans residing around it.
