We are excited to launch the first phase of Mirath:Music, a regional touring sound-exhibition about the cultural heritage music in the MENA region. The exhibition takes an experimental curatorial approach with the goal to give an insight into the musical diversity of the region, without the attempt to be representative. Using the participating artists’ individual takes on the subject and playing with musical elements from different times and places, the exhibition considers cultural heritage as something that is alive and is preserved because of its continuous and ongoing development.
The exhibition in Amman takes place at the Canvaspark of the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts in Weibdeh between the 23rd of October and the 1st of November. Opening hours: 9AM to 9PM daily. Entrance free!
Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for further announcements and visit the
project website for deatils about the exhibition and further exhibition dates across the region
The project has been realized through a collaboration of seven Goethe-Instituts from the region (Algeria, Sudan, Tunisia, Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon und Jordan).
