House of kal Berlin | Winter 2021

Celebrating the coming together of different streams from the Houses of kal Karachi, Colombo and Berlin, from radio kal - where the sounds of yesterday and tomorrow meet - and the first in a series of books of kal. Keeping in mind the realities we find ourselves in, a new COVID surge, House of kal Berlin goes nomadic and on air.

House of kal Berlin | Summer 2021

After 18 months of planning, so many challenges thrown our way in these pandemic times and ecological shifts we are thrilled and humbled to be able to create community with folks in Berlin and across Colombo, Karachi and spaces in South Asia both digitally and in person.

Participating Artists

House of kal Berlin unfolds in trans*oceanic correspondences and collaboration with the Houses of kal Karachi and Colombo. Each of these spaces bring together art practitioners whose work explores feminist, anti racist, anti fascist and queer possibility.

Team House of kal Berlin

The Houses of kal are part of the trans*oceanic platform a language where yesterday and tomorrow are the same word. kal co-initiated by Aziz Sohail and The Many Headed Hydra.

House of kal Berlin continues in Winter (November and December 2021) at District*School Without Center with trans*oceanic transmissions from House of Kal Karachi and House of Kal Colombo as well as contributions by fehras publishing practices, knowbotiq, Ferdiansyah Thajib, Shaunak Mahbubani, Aroh Akuth, and the contributors and editors of kal FICTIONS.
