Project Coordinator in the "Pre-Integration" Project

at the Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka with a 100% employment capacity (40 hours/week), remuneration according to the local pay scale of the Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka. A local work permit is required for this position. 

The Goethe-Institut is seeking a committed employee starting from January 1, 2025, or later (initially on a fixed-term contract until June 30, 2027).

As an Project Coordinator in the "Pre-Integration" Project, your responsibilities, in coordination with the regional project management in New Delhi, will mainly include:
  • Supporting the organization, implementation, and documentation of informational and advisory services on living and working in Germany for Sri Lanka
  • Public relations work for the projects and activities conducted, including managing social media channels and collaborating with the institute's social media team
  • Managing databases, querying and recording statistical data, documenting and archiving for the project, including data research and preparing information for various queries and reports
  • Preparing preliminary account allocations for the "Pre-Integration" project
  • Assisting with regional administrative tasks within the project, including budget control and organizing receipts according to AMIF requirements
  • General office tasks (e.g., email correspondence and general communication in German and English; processing applications, creating statistics and reports as per specifications)
  • Maintaining the archive
Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills and a confident approach to interacting with the target group, whether in direct conversations, by phone, or in written correspondence
  • Very good knowledge of Sinhalese and/or Tamil, as well as English, in both spoken and written form
  • German language proficiency at least at level B1
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience with social media management
  • Willingness to learn the Goethe-Institut's systems
  • Good organizational and coordination skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities
  • High resilience
  • Willingness to travel and work on weekends
  • Completed university degree
