We are joyful to announce the OPEN CALL for the second edition of the Mouatheqat/Women in Dox program to take place in 2022. We are ready to embark on a new journey with Arab/African women filmmakers from different countries, generations and professions.
Mouatheqat/Women in Dox is a nine months fellowship incubator for female professionals to acquire and exchange the necessary skills to write, research, direct, produce and edit a documentary film. Its main focus lies in the exploration of and experimentation with different forms of storytelling emanating from individual perspectives, reflecting the their own voices and experiences. Taking place online and offline between Berlin and the African/Arab region, the program guides the fellows through a holistic filmmaking process from the idea to the delivery of a documentary film powered by collective practice. Mouatheqat is designed to connect and cross-pollinate intergenerational, interdisciplinary and intercultural imaginaries of women who are keen on transmitting their voices to a worldwide audience.
The eligible countries change for every edition. For 2022 we invite candidates of the following countries and their international diasporas to apply:
Senegal, Morocco, Libya, Palestine, Lebanon
