Die Ausstellung versammelt eine überzeugende Sammlung von Werken, die sich kritisch mit kolonialen, traditionellen und heteronormativen Erzählungen auseinandersetzen und durch alternative Mythen und neu erfundene Geschichten neue Perspektiven eröffnen. Beyond the Edge, Embodied Horizons ermutigt den Betrachter, sich auf eine fließendere und umfassendere Interpretation von Identität und historischen Narrativen einzulassen.
Die Ausstellung wird mit Unterstützung des Goethe-Instituts Philippinen und Tin-aw Art Management vom 29. März bis 31. Mai 2025 im UP Vargas Museum gezeigt.

Über die Künstlerin
Lee Paje
Lee Paje (b. 1980, based in Manila, Philippines) works with various forms including painting, sculpture, prints, video, installations, and public art. Her works cumulatively reference visual narratives that aim to reveal alternative realities about gendered identities. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in the Philippines, Australia, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States. She received the Art Omi Artist Residency in New York in 2018 and the Pazifik-Leipzig Artist Residency by Goethe-Institut in Leipzig, Germany, in 2022. Lee has a Studio Arts degree from the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts, where she graduated magna cum laude and received the Dominador Castañeda Award for most outstanding thesis.
