Africomics - A Pan-African comic anthology
with Odile Uwera and Dolph Banza
AfriComics is an exciting comics project by the Goethe-Institut from 2022, involving 17 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. It aims to strengthen and focus on comics in Sub-Saharan Africa and to actively support their development as well as that of their artists and link them internationally.
17 artists participated in workshops in Ghana and from these, 14 stories were created which tackle issues of colonialism in various ways. It is now a 200-page comic, published in French, English and German. The Rwandan artists Odile Uwera and Dolph Banza will be on site for the event in Kigali to answer questions about the process and the final results. It will also be possible to purchase the Africomics book.
