About us
The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institute, active worldwide. We promote the study of German abroad and encourage international cultural exchange.

A MAZE. established in 2008 is an international label in the field of independent and alternative games, playful media and games culture. Festivals, exhibitions, conferences, workshops, game showcases, game jams, artist in residence programs and a magazine are part of the portfolio.
ZKM (Center for Art and Media) was founded as a museum in 1989 with the mission to perpetuate classical arts in the digital age. It is a house for all media and genre.
Cologne Game Lab (CGL) promotes the research and development of interactive content, such as digital games, playful software applications as well as interactive film and TV formats.
The Foundation, initiated by the German Government, and the trade organizations BIU and GAME aims to publicize and promote digital games in society. The foundation also co-presents the annual German Computer Games Awards.
The BIU (the German Games Industry Association) is the organization that officially represents the German computer and video games industry. The BIU’s main aim is to make Germany a leading global location for the development and production of games.
The German Computer Games Award has been created in 2009. Every year, a jury consisting of game developers, players, journalists, scientists and politicians select the best games in different categories.
GAME is the German Association of the Games Industry and promotes the interests of computer games developers in politics and society.
