In this hands-on workshop, Moritz Simon Geist and members of his studio will provide an in-depth look into their production process. Participants will gain an introduction to music robots, acoustic design, and DIY electronics and then be challenged to create and experiment with sounds, samples, and craft unique compositions.

STUDIO MORITZ SIMON GEIST is internationally acclaimed for its work with robots and music machines to create electronic and experimental compositions.

Robotic Electronic Music (REM) offers a futuristic and visual approach to music composition, blending DIY-instrument design with electronic music, techno, and sound art. It automates electronic music sounds using physical objects like everyday items, drums, metallic objects, and advanced robotics, adding human-like nuances and unpredictable elements to the music while maintaining machine-like precision.

Co-presented with the MIT Museum and the MIT Spatial Sound Lab
