From Home to Home: Diaspora Tales in European/ German Literature
European Literature Days is an annual project initiated by the EUNIC Cluster Vietnam to foster cooperation and literary exchange between Vietnam and Europe.
For the "European Literature Days 2025," which focuses on diaspora literature, the Goethe-Institut Vietnam will host Khuê Phạm and Vanessa Vũ, two German-Vietnamese writers. They will visit Ho Chi Minh City, Hue and Hanoi, engage in panel discussion and workshop to share their literary journeys, discuss how their immigration experiences have influenced their work, and offer their unique perspectives on this theme in today's social and literary context.
Both Khuê Phạm and Vanessa Vũ began their careers as journalists, but their contributions go far beyond journalism. Khuê Phạm recently published her first book and is also involved in creating and performing a play based on it. Vanessa Vũ's book "Komm dahin, wo es noch ist" was published in 2024, and she is still actively producing podcasts and other media forms. They are among the most prominent German-Vietnamese voices in contemporary German literature.[DP1]
[DP1]@Wesemüller, Mara Ruth Hi Mara, I just added new information on Vanessa Vu‘s recent book „Komm dahin, wo es still ist“. Could you support me in final proofreading on this? Thank you so so much!!
