The project On mining the ear for the nearly-but-not-quite-there takes on concerns around the various modalities, registers and politics of frequency frequently associated with disquiet, uncertainty, the uncanny, the weird and the eerie. Through a series of sonic happenings in the form of objects around the site and a public talk, what is proposed is a mutation in the limits of listening, as a movement through the perceptible processes of hearing towards an ‘uncanny listening’.
