FIVE MILLION INCIDENTS ist zurück.
Aufgrund der COVID Pandemie waren wir leider nicht in der Lage, die Programmteile von Five Million Incidents zu präsentieren, die bis zum 18. April 2020 hätten stattfinden sollen. Doch seither haben wir uns mit Plänen beschäftigt, wie die Projekte dennoch, wenn auch auf unterschiedliche Weise präsentiert werden könnten.
Wir freuen uns ankündigen zu können, dass diese INCIDENTS nun digital gezeigt werden. Wir werden in Kürze genaue Angaben darüber mitteilen, wie Sie zusehen, zuhören und teilnehmen können an dieser neuen Beschäftigung mit Zeit und Raum.

Das Team von Five Million Incidents

Five Million Incidents ist ein einjähriges Projekt des Goethe-Instituts / Max Mueller Bhavan in Neu-Delhi und Kolkata. Es markiert den hundertsten Jahrestag der Declaration of the Independence of the Mind (Deklaration zur Unabhängigkeit des Geistes), welche von einem internationalen Zusammenschluss aus Künstlern, Intellektuellen und Philosophen unterschrieben wurde, darunter Albert Einstein, Rabindranath Tagore und Romain Rolland.
Von April 2019 bis April 2020 findet diese Veranstaltungsreihe an beiden Instituten statt. Five Million Incidents wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Raqs Media Collective entworfen und von den Teams der beiden Goethe- Institute sowie von externen Juror/innen ermöglicht.
Five Million Incidents ist darauf ausgerichtet, unsere Vorstellungen über Kunst als Erweiterung der alltäglichen Lebenserfahrungen zu erweitern. Schauspieler, Tänzer, bildende Künstler, Filmemacher, Fotografen, Schriftsteller, soziale und kulturelle Aktivisten sowie Pädagogen werden den ,,Schaffensprozess‘‘ als Moment des Teilens und der Interaktion mit ihrem Publikum erforschen.
Five Million Incidents ist ein Prozess, in dem temporäre und manchmal flüchtige kollektive Momente des Arbeitens, Lernens, Zuhörens, Teilens und Engagierens und Werdens erzeugt werden. Es ist ein Prozess, der die Lücke zwischen dem disziplinarischen Prozess und unseren alltäglichen Aktivitäten schließt.
Five Million Incidents lädt zum Experimentieren mit den Möglichkeiten von öffentlichem Raum, Zeit, Medien, Kommunikation und Interaktion ein. Dabei sollen neue Formen künstlerischer und intellektueller Arbeit gewürdigt, bestärkt und bestehende Formen mit neuer Aufmerksamkeit sowie neuem Inhalt belebt werden.
Die Ereignisse werden rund um die Institute auftauchen und sich wieder auflösen. Sie werden unser tägliches Verhältnis zu den Räumlichkeiten des Goethe-Instituts und dessen alltäglichen Aktivitäten durch Eingriffe, Interventionen, Unterbrechungen und die Teilnahme von Künstlern aus ganz Indien überschreiten und transformieren.
Das Wesen eines jeden Ereignisses wird sich nur in Ihrer Anwesenheit, manchmal innerhalb einer Stunde, bisweilen auch erst im Verlauf mehrerer Wochen oder Monate zeigen.
