In his Chronicle of Connections, Alexander Kluge collects stories and events from different times and places and weaves them together to create a multi-layered picture of society: the story of humanity on one side, politics and contemporary history on the other, and between them the various arts, historical evidence combined with fiction. The connections and interactions that he brings together are an indication of the complexity of human existence, symbolised by Kong, the ape.
