This project is part of round 3 of the International Coproduction Fund, year 2017.

Efe Paul Azino (Nigeria) and Tanasgol Sabbagh (Germany)

Poetry meets theater meets music, as a world-class ensemble of performance poets travel from Lagos to Berlin and back, in search of home. Finding Home explores the questions of displacement, identity, and migration, following ten riveting characters attempting to build bridges where political expediency has erected walls. From desperadoes who brave the Sahara and the Mediterranean to make it into Europe, to victims of collateral damage who find refuge in terrorists cells; from patriots going back home to rebuild, to women fleeing from secrets and abusive marriages; from 419 scammers out to right history, to refugees trying to find comfort in a new city, somber monologues blend with playful performances to deliver a compelling narrative that conflates the personal with the political.
