ALIA: ZǓ TÀI
Chronus Art Center (China), CTM Festival (Germany), Marco Donnarumma (Germany), Nunu Kong (China)
The title of the dance and music performance is composed of the Latin word alia, the other, and the Chinese zǔ tài, which means structure or shape. Three dancers carry five robots equipped with Artificial Intelligence. The robots act as prostheses with their own agendas. The dancers and machines thus rediscover the self and the other; they explore the new possibilities of identity that accompany the increased use of AI. Cultural similarities and differences between Germany and China are questioned as well as ideas about the human body.
