Este es el segundo año que Fundación Tajamar y Goethe-Institut se unen para invitar artistas radicados en Alemania a realizar una residencia de creación site specific en las Torres de Tajamar. El programa tiene como objetivo crear oportunidades de diálogo e intercambio entre artistas y agentes de ambos países.
En esta convocatoria el artista seleccionado es Alexander Meurer (Alemán/Búlgaro, 1989) quien durante el mes de noviembre y diciembre participará en la segunda Residencia Internacional Tajamar + Goethe Institut.
SOBRE EL ARTISTA
Alexander Meurer es artista, músico, curador, director artístico y co-fundador del sello discográfico Bohemian Drips; plataforma que ofrece un marco de creación site-specific que se distingue por realizar creaciones sonoras en espacios con características acústicas especiales. Alex Meurer tiene como enfoque entender y utilizar el espacio como una dimensión compositiva en sí misma.

residency program
Tajamar Foundation in partnership with Goethe Institut, offer a residency program for artists based in Germany. The program seeks to generate connections between Art, Architecture and Public Space, and the opportunity to strengthen networks, knowledge and experiences between international artists and the chilean scene.We challenge artists to explore and initiate new works, using interactions between art, public space, site specific and architecture taking as inspiration Las Torres de Tajamar, an emblematic housing complex representative of modern architecture in Chile.
In this occasion, the selected artist will hold a one or two month residency between September and December 2019 (there may be flexibility on these dates) at the apartment of Fundación Tajamar, from where the artist will implement and develop an artistic activation/site-specific in the the common spaces of the Torres de Tajamar.
Fundación Tajamar and Goethe Institut will provide accommodations and a support team to help in the development of their work.
During this period, Fundación Tajamar will facilitate a series of studio visits and meetings with artists and professionals involved in the Chilean contemporary arts scene in order to generate new connections and knowledge.
