The Goethe-Institut Libanon introduced this year AL-MU7AFFIZ, a cultural grant designed to serve as a catalyst, supporting and expediting the artistic endeavours of artists, collectives, and independent cultural practitioners. This initiative is aiming at providing financial backing, thereby strengthening, and energizing the local arts community.

AL-MU7AFFIZ – Cultural Grant offers one-time financial support for the implementation of new or ongoing project, or a small travel grant to empower individuals or groups within Lebanon. This initiative seeks to foster individual and collaborative work processes and artistic research, providing resources to nurture creativity and innovation in the Lebanese cultural scene.

The fund's mission is to provide targeted financial support to sustain Lebanon's cultural sector. This includes funding projects, events, festival participations and initiatives that promote artistic expression, preserve cultural heritage, and encourage innovation. By focusing on immediate support, the fund addresses urgent needs within the cultural community, enabling it to thrive and enrich Lebanon's cultural landscape.

The grant is intended to provide flexible financial support to individuals/collectives who do not have sufficient funds of their own to realise their projects or part of their projects, or to travel to participate or attend training programs in festivals.

Support includes but is not limited to the production of a work, a workshop, a seminar, a podcast/radio project, a text production, the development of a work of research (in the form of a text, an audio, a short film, a book, a small exhibition, etc.) and other forms of artistic work.
