Alexandra Waierstall's In The Heart Of The Heart Of The Moment is an open invitation to contemplate, process and, most of all, feel through our times.
This ambitious work, initially inspired by dancers and the “Arena”, a monumental sculpture created by acclaimed American artist Rita McBride in 1997, is performed by the stunning dynamic range of finely attuned dancers, with every movement reflecting how our bodies are adjusting to rapidly changing social structures.
Using her signature style, Alexandra Waierstall engages us with seemingly contradictory emotions, through exquisite collaborations and the layering of thought-provoking references, about place and history.
This rich genesis of knowledge creates a transformation process calling to our hearts, real and symbolic.
“The body of work by Alexandra Waierstall destabilizes patriarchal structures in how her artistic approach and processes propose an expanded time that works as a softening of divisions” - Eva Martinez, Dance Curator and Dramaturge, Former Artistic Programmer of Sadler’s Wells, London.

Supported by the Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kulturamt der Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf.
This performance was made possible thanks to support from Goethe-Institut Irland and the German Federal Foreign Office.
