Description

The subjects Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Technology tie into the introducing editorial. Demonstrative fotos and illustrations as well as four experiments illustrate the contents of the magazine. Right in the beginning the learners deal with the characteristics of insekts so they can afterwards determine which animals are insects. The subject biology deals with the questions who eat whom or what and what would happen if there were no insects anymore. In an experiment the learners find out, that bees have favourite colors, too. In chemistry the thematik of insect die-offs is  addressed again and looked deeper into. Here the learners become active again: they experiment with building a house for bumblebees and wild bees. The subject geography dives into the spread of insects in the world and their site-specific camouflage methods. The contents are made experienceable by an experiment about an ant trail. The subject physics is about the special eyes of insects, the facet eyes. The learners can experience their effects by crafting a roll made out of straws and looking trough it. In the final tech-part the insects are getting connected to their inventions. A closer look will be given to the wings of a dragonfly and the propellers of a helicopter as well as honeycombs and other combs found in our everyday life.
