Description

The third issue of the Lingo macht MINT magazine is dedicated to the theme music. The vivid learning contents are supported by pictures and illustrations. Learners are being motivated by numerous tasks and five experiments. The editorial introduces the topic by making the learners think about their own connection to music. The three-paged physics-part pursues the question what music realy is - if e.g. a single sound can be considered music. In four experiments the learners become active themselves: they produce sound and make it visible. Furthermore they explore the difference between high and low pitched and loud and silent sounds. In the end of the subject physiks they also learn how to describe sounds. The subject biology is about the producing and hearing of sounds. Therefore the vocal chords and ears are being inspected in detail. Here the learners are also being activated by an experiment. They explore the direction sounds come from. The tech-section shows the development of technical devices from phonographes to MP3-players. Maths is about calculating with notes and tacts. Here the magazine introduces the writing of musical notes. In the end the subject IT is about music in the internet. Learners are supposed to do some research about copyright issues. A QR-Code for the research can be found in the magazine.
